An honor

The events of December 8th and 9th will stay with me for a long time.   I was blessed to spend time with the fine folks of Foot Locker and Great Plains Roofing in Junction City and Kansas City.  They treated me so well at the Foot Locker facility and the introduction to speak made me feel like I was driving into the Bassmaster Classic.   They had a Ranger/Mercury rig available that made a perfect stage.  I received several certificates, a Foot Locker vest and a K-State hat and jersey signed by Bill Snyder.  For you Roll Tide fans, he’s like the Bear Bryant of Kansas.  🙂

But as great as that was it all paled in comparison to their arranging two times at the Fort Riley military base.  I learned so much about Fort Riley, the Big Red One (1st Infantry Division) and the life of civilians working on post.  Fort Riley has a terrifically organize Wounded Transition Brigade (WTB) as well that welcomed me on the 9th.  Those guys are my heroes and it was awesome to think that I perhaps gave them some small amount of encouragement.   The trip reminds me what the Bible says “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).  I was seriously blessed by that time and hope to return soon.

Merry Christmas everyone!
